Since January, we (Tim and Lorraine Goddard) have been teaching jr. high and high school at the International Christian School of Rio. Lorraine teaches history & bible, while Tim will be teaches science, bible and journalism. This is old hat for Lorraine, who has been teaching high school history for four years now, but for Tim it is all brand new.
ICS-Rio is a small, English-speaking, non-denominational Christian school in the neighborhood of Barra de Tijuca. Many of the school’s students are the children of missionaries, but there are also many children of foreign business people, and many Brazilian students as well. This means we are both supporting the work of missionaries in Rio by educating their children, and doing missionary work in our own right by witnessing to the many non-Christian students at the school.
While the Network of International Christian Schools will be paying most of our expenses, we are raising support to pay for our transportation costs. To learn more, click here.
But most importantly, please be in prayer for us–that we remain safe, that we gain the support that we need to return next school year, and in particular that our ministry continues to be fruitful and fulfilling.
